Julie is a clinical social worker licensed to practice in North Carolina. She graduated Summa cum Laude from North Carolina State University with a degree in Social Work and then went on to receive a Masters Degree in Social Work from Boston University.
In the over 15 years she’s been providing therapy Julie has provided services to adults, adolescents and families in a variety of settings. After graduation she worked as an in-home therapist and clinical supervisor at an agency providing mental health and substance abuse services to adults, adolescents and their families. Julie has provided individual therapy to those with mood disorders, anxiety disorders and trauma histories using a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. She has experience working in inpatient treatment programs providing addiction treatment to adults and supportive services to their families. She also has extensive experience collaborating with public schools, hospitals and the court systems.
Julie enjoys working with adults, couples, adolescents and families. Her areas of training and experience include treating substance use disorders as well as supporting and educating family members about addiction/recovery. Other areas of training and experience include depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, adjustment disorders, marital issues, parent/child relationship issues, grief and loss as well as life transitions.
